Description

Since 1996, a series of solo exhibitions on the exterior wall of Kunsthalle Basel activate the public space with contemporary art. In 2026, Kunsthalle Basel invites the art space Cordova from Barcelona to curate the back wall project by Samuel Guerrero (born 1997), whose practice relates nature, technology, and perception. Using wood, concrete, light, and sound, he creates installations where organic processes and machine control intertwine. Based on Mesoamerican systems of time measurement and observation, Guerrero examines time as a social and political structure, making it tangible in urban space through phenomena of light and shadow.
