Description
The prayer for peace in today's times
Peace – an ancient longing of humanity and at the same time a pressing plea in the present. At the latest since the beginning of Russia's offensive war against Ukraine in February 2022 and the war in the Middle East after the terrorist attack by the radical Islamic Hamas on Israel, this longing for peace has become even stronger for many people. Personal involvement, shock, and incomprehension in the face of violent conflicts and the many victims they claim demand expression. Even though Christian engagement for peace must not stop at prayer, it still holds particular significance. But what effect does praying for peace have? What potential lies in prayer for peace? What power does prayer unleash in a world full of conflicts, uncertainties, and tensions? Speaker: Dr. Lisa Kühn, Dr. theol., Professor of Liturgical Studies at the Theological University of Chur, Tuesday, September 29, 2026, 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM, online Target audience: all interested parties Source: www.weiterbildung.swiss
