Description
The gain of reading texts from the New Testament as Jewish writings How naturally Christians consider the so-called New Testament as 'their' Bible, as Christian writings. We hear the 'Christian' message of the Gospels in our church services and read with a 'Christian' perspective, e.g., in the Pauline epistles. Often, it is lost that not only was Jesus Jewish, but also the so-called early church was a messianic group within Judaism in the 1st century. Becoming more aware of this fact changes the understanding of the New Testament. Using the example of the so-called Christmas texts of the Gospel of Matthew, the Theology Salon explores Jewish thinking in the texts and offers new perspectives. Speaker: Dr. Bernhard Lindner Theologian, educator, supervisor, and OE consultant bso, Life Pilgrim, staff member of the Education and Provost Office of the Roman Catholic Church in Aargau Tuesday, December 22, 2026, 8-9:30 PM, online Target audience: all interested parties Source: www.weiterbildung.swissHighlights
