Description
In SACRE, self-regulating movements, known as stimming, meet an externally imposed resistance. This makes societal exclusion logics towards neurodivergence physically tangible. As part of their residency at Tanzhaus Zürich, compagnie O. explores a choreographic re-examination of Le Sacre du Printemps in SACRE. The choreographic motif is stimming against resistance: stimming is a typical self-regulating movement form for neurodivergent individuals. The dancers use it against a resistance that is physically felt, imposed from the outside, and affects everyone equally. This makes societal exclusion logics towards neurodivergence physically tangible. The myth of sacrifice shifts as community and individuality are renegotiated. SACRE is the fourth and final project in the MULTIVERSE cycle.
