Description
Disagreement should not be avoided, as it is the engine of democracy. However, today's constant agitation is an outrage trap: instead of discussing matters objectively, fixed camps and ideological echo chambers develop, making public discourse more difficult. Saba-Nur Cheema and Meron Mendel have been bringing together people with fundamentally different views for years. They stimulate a debate that they are very familiar with due to their own diverse backgrounds. This evening, they will discuss what resilient debate practice looks like and how we can cultivate it. Prof. Dr. Meron Mendel studied Pedagogy and Jewish History in Haifa and Munich and earned his doctorate in Frankfurt. He is a Professor of Social Work and head of the Anne Frank Education Center. Dr. Saba-Nur Cheema is a political scientist and anti-racism trainer, advising, among others, the German federal government on issues of Islamophobia. Part of the series 'And now?'
