30 YEARS OF BOMBAST AND PASSION For three decades, RPWL from Bavarian Freising has been enchanting their fans with subtle Artrock. Passion and creativity seem limitless. Eleven studio albums and as many live albums are now part of their discography, and the band undoubtedly ranks among the most important representatives of the European prog rock scene. RPWL, originally founded in 1997 as a Pink Floyd cover band, has been representing fine progressive rock for three decades, including expansive songs, keyboard and guitar solos. The bombastic rock, which was so frowned upon in the early 80s during the heyday of punk and new wave, echoes in the sound of this five-piece band. The elegiac compositions of RPWL, whose name is derived from the initials of the original band lineup, have long found their fans. With 22 albums and countless concerts across Europe, in Mexico, and the USA, the band has become an international brand. The sound often resembles Pink Floyd, not least due to the vocal range of singer Yogi Lang. But it also echoes other great prog bands from the 70s like Supertramp or King Crimson. In 2025, RPWL celebrated the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking album “World Through My Eyes”. The anniversary tour in October 2025 was a triumphant highlight. Many concerts were sold out, and the professional recording of this tour now allows every fan to relive the magical atmosphere of these shows. The tracklist of “World Through My Eyes – Live” (release in May 2026) invites you to immerse yourself in the special energy of RPWL concerts. The complete masterpiece “World Through My Eyes” was performed in the first part of the concerts, and as a fitting conclusion, the bonus track “New Stars Are Born” thrilled the audience. This epic song combines everything RPWL stands for: profound melancholy, majestic melodies, virtuosic solos, and captivating improvisations. The release of the anniversary tour perfectly captures the magic of this special concert series and offers an emotional retrospective of an extraordinary chapter in the band’s history.
