Description
«Feedback is a monotonous cycle. It rarely surprises us, even with its new narratives, as the circumstances remain unchanged but devastating. Perhaps the apocalypse is not a single event but an endless cycle of catastrophes: a loop of power struggles fueled by seduction and violence. So how can we avoid the apocalypse? Do we submit to the power of artificial intelligence? Do we become one with consumer goods and give up our autonomy in exchange for the automated promise of comfort? Do we evolve into a hybrid species capable of predicting dangers and becoming invincible? Or do we observe survival strategies from nature? In this program, we consider three speculative possibilities for avoiding the apocalypse. Traveling through physical and digital control systems, we navigate the tension between power, algorithms, and the metamorphosis necessary for coexistence.» Abulkassem Salama The video works "Morphing Realities - Hard Walls / Soft Code / Wings" by Abulkassem Salama, Esraa Elfeky, and Ibrahim Khalid are shown at REX BOX.
