Description
What did it mean to be disadvantaged in the past? Who decides what is normal? This live performance of the podcast Rewrite History will examine Czech and Czechoslovak history through the eyes of those who, for various reasons, found themselves on the margins of society. From war veterans to residents of institutions and students of special schools, to people labeled as incapable, unadaptable, or simply unnecessary by society. How has the boundary between help and exclusion changed over time? Why have we so often measured human value by the ability to work? And are the histories of disadvantage ultimately the histories of a society that had the power to decide who is "normal" and who is not?
