Description

Our concept of music does not end at the ear. Sound is created through the interplay of perception, gesture, image, and imagination – what we see influences what we hear. After our first REINGELAUSCHT concert last season, we now shift the focus to the visual. When does something shift from the visual to the acoustic? When does a sign become sound? For centuries, composers have experimented with extended notation forms – not as illustration, but as an independent musical practice. In REINGELAUSCHT – REINGESCHAUT, we encounter four such approaches. Join us in exploring connections between the visual and the acoustic, develop your own graphic scores, and experience their immediate musical realization. Music here arises at thresholds: where an image shifts, a sign becomes uncertain – and sound begins. Additional information:
