Under a slightly cracked moon, within a papier-mâché setting, a dreamlike and melancholic garden comes to life among the brambles. Welcome to Poussière de crotte dans le cœur d’une diva, where three souls cross paths without ever seeing one another. Driven by an absurd and futile quest, a power-hungry drag king attempts to become the master of time, for time, after all, is money. A vampire, the Diva of Broken Hearts and queen of a forgotten cabaret, sings of her lost love in a husky, spellbinding voice. Beside her, a strange Pierrot, guardian of the flowers that wither and are reborn, devours paper butterflies until they choke. In this solo show blending humor, absurdity, and politics, Marlène Charpentié invites us to dream despite the shadow of capitalism. Through a vampire tale with the feel of a fantastical cabaret, dance, theater, and clowning intertwine in a gentle nocturnal reverie, oscillating between rage, melancholy, and wonder.
