oxyd loves art. oxyd loves flashes of inspiration, surprises, and intuition. oxyd loves to explore, question, transcend, reveal, and overturn conventions, rules, and boundaries. oxyd wants to break out of boxes and grids, turn the world upside down, reverse the arrow, and make the cup run over. oxyd, you, and I—WE should do this together: not reinvent the wheel, but test, experiment, invent, discover, and discuss. oxyd in Winterthur is a nonprofit exhibition and experimental space. The exhibitions focus on regional and national artistic creation with the goal of fostering dialogues that transcend content, location, and generations. We value networking. New formats, too. We’re interested in intersections with fields that lie outside the context of art. oxyd aims to create space for the untried and the experimental and to facilitate unexpected juxtapositions. oxyd aims to be a place where, in addition to hosting exhibitions, questions about the significance of art and culture in and for our society can and should be actively explored.
