Schattenwesen shifts the focus from photography as a medium of light to shadows, tracing the evolution from 19th-century spirit photography to today's algorithmic phantoms. The exhibition features works by various artists and students, showcasing how images serve as spaces for imagination, uncertainty, and the manifestation of non-human figures across analog and digital worlds. It examines how contemporary images continue the historical quest to visualize the invisible, now augmented by artificial intelligence and data-driven systems.
