Description
This year's summer exhibition at Reinhart am Stadtgarten explores the birth of modern art through the development of plein air oil painting in the early 19th century. Featuring works by pioneers like Pierre-Henri de Valenciennes and Simon Denis, as well as early German artists such as Martin von Rohden and Johann Georg von Dillis, the exhibition also includes significant pieces by Heinrich Reinhold, Ernst Fries, and Achille Etna Michallon. The display culminates with enchanting works by Carl Blechen and Camille Corot, illustrating a grand journey from the southern sun to artistic freedom.
