Otto Meyer presents: Rantastic Headphones Live – Joo Kraus & Band

Description

++++ The event has been postponed from 10.10.2025 to 06.11.2026. ++++ Otto Meyer presents:
RANTASTIC headphones Live with Joo Kraus For many years, Joo Kraus has rightly been considered one of the most renowned jazz trumpeters in our region. Although Joo was not born into a musical family, he was placed next to his school notebook. His father played trumpet and taught him the first fingerings. In the 2000s, Joo Kraus increasingly wrote his own songs. He produced his album Sueño in Havana's oldest recording studio and arranged songs by Michael Jackson as an intellectual homage to the King of Pop. Joo Kraus – this includes many decades of international stage and studio experience, countless worldwide tours, 2 Grammy nominations, the Echo Jazz as best German trumpeter, and 5 German Jazz Awards in gold. Whether Joo performs with the Cuban pianist Omar Sosa, with Paula Morelenbaum, as a guest of Klaus Doldinger, with the SWR Big Band, or with his own quintet, there is always that unmistakable tone: modest and powerful, captivating joy of playing combined with sensitive attentiveness to fellow musicians.
