Andrea Kuratle grew up in Igis, Graubünden. After teacher training in Chur, he taught primary school classes in his home community for three years and led the mixed choir there. He completed his music studies at the Zurich University of the Arts with a major in organ under Rudolf Scheidegger, graduating with a teaching diploma and concert diploma with distinction. At the same time, he obtained a piano diploma at the Lucerne Conservatory. After postgraduate studies in Hamburg focusing on Baroque North German organ music and several years of teaching at the Graubünden Teacher Training College and the Sargans Cantonal School, he studied school music II at the Lucerne University of Music.
Andrea Kuratle is now a music teacher at the Graubünden Cantonal School in Chur and organist at the Reformed Church Community of Chur (Comanderkirche). He is a sought-after concert organist for performances with choirs, as an accompanist, and as a soloist. In addition, Andrea Kuratle conducts city tours for Chur Tourism. In addition to his organ concerts and concerts and performances with cantonal school classes, numerous performances with his choirs are fondly remembered. He repeatedly succeeds in motivating and inspiring people for large music projects. Special attention was given to performances with the Chamber Philharmonic Graubünden and the Graubünden Singkreis, which he led for twenty-four years: Duruflé's Requiem, Mendelssohn's oratorios Elias and Paulus, J.S. Bach's B minor Mass, Handel's oratorios Messiah and Israel in Egypt, Haydn's The Seasons, Verdi's Requiems, Schubert's As Dur Mass, Rutter's Requiem, Gjeilo's Sunrise Mass, Bacalov's Misa Tango, and Karl Jenkins' Gloria were under his direction.
Andrea Kuratle received the Graubünden Cantonal Promotion Prize in 1997 for his work.
