Description

Ceramic vessels were used for storing ingredients and finished medicines and shaped the image of the pharmacy for centuries. As artistically designed objects, they illustrate the central role of the pharmacy as part of an interconnected trade and knowledge community. The exhibition explores the interfaces between science, art, health, and globalization in early modern Europe, using pharmacy vessels as an example.
