Description
Introduction lecture with Racheli Rotstein one hour before the concert in the small hall. Alexandre Kantorow Piano
Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg
Antony Hermus Conducting It was a thunderbolt: in 2019, pianist Alexandre Kantorow won first prize and the gold medal at the legendary Tchaikovsky Competition – the first Frenchman ever. Still under 30, he now performs with the greats, the very greats: for example, touring with the Concertgebouw Orchestra under Klaus Mäkelä or with other conductors like Riccardo Chailly or Paavo Järvi. In his Offenburg concert, Kantorow presents himself with Bartók's second piano concerto, a daring keyboard fireworks display. With music by Tchaikovsky, the Strasbourg Philharmonic evoke the heights and depths of human emotions: joy, anger, love, sorrow – all intensified by the composer in his sixth symphony "Pathétique".
