Description
The focus of the program is the Mass in F minor by the Vaduz composer Josef Rheinberger. Successful and frequently performed during his lifetime, his music fell into obscurity after World War I. From the 1980s onwards, Rheinberger's compositions gradually found their way back into churches and concert halls. Swiss composer Flurina Zehnder connects across time and space with Italian composer Maddalena Casulana and presents her madrigal O notte, o cielo, o mar alongside a contemporary composition. Benjamin Britten's luminous and bright Festival Te Deum is intended to shine far into the dark winter months ahead.
