World music full of delicate innerness and at the same time captivating dynamics: The singer and multi-instrumentalist Nils Kercher draws from the traditions of West Africa as well as from the introspective atmosphere of Nordic vastness and modern songwriting. His international trio expands with a multifaceted arsenal of percussion, Kora, Balafon, guitar, and a web of voices, creating a lively fusion of two musical worlds. The music brings the continents together with a new lyrical sound language – and excites audiences of various generations and nationalities. With his virtuously played Malian spike lute Ngoni, Barou Kouyaté, a long-time fellow musician and nephew of the internationally successful Bassekou Kouyaté, adds a warm color to the texture. Kira Kaipainen accompanies the sound journey with a delicate voice, sensitive percussion, and lyrics that touch the soul. The natural and organic dialogue between the musicians demonstrates their curiosity for the unfamiliar and their sovereignty. The songs feel like a cycle of verses that resonate long inside.
