Description
The Youth Art School and the Music School Tuttlingen have chosen the well-known fairy tale by Wilhelm Hauff for their this year's Nikolaus concert. The diminutive and often mocked Muck is left alone and destitute after his father's death. He goes on a journey and finds work with an old woman. There he discovers two magical objects: a pair of slippers that allow him to move incredibly fast, and a staff that shows him hidden treasures. With these magical powers, Muck enters the service of a king and becomes a royal courier due to his speed. But through envy and intrigue, he loses the king's favor and is expelled. Eventually, he manages to use his magical powers to take revenge and restore his rights. This story about mockery, respect, and inner strength is brought to the stage by the younger musicians of the music school and the young acting troupe of the Youth Art School: various choirs, pianists, instrumental soloists, a recorder group, and a string and guitar orchestra perform. Will Nikolaus also visit afterwards and bring something for the children?
