Description
The jury for the German Small Arts Prize 2023 sums it up: "With this, the jury honors an artist who, as a classical storyteller in a very modern guise, has managed to almost create a niche of his own genre. Nikita Miller's stories are not just a packaging for funny punchlines or deeper messages. The story itself is the focus, which, with almost cinematic dramaturgy, lets everyday situations, experiences from his own youth, and ironically broken clichés of his Kazakh-Russian origin escalate more and more. His situational comedy, surprising callbacks, and quirky highlights - spiced with a lot of street credibility - take the audience on a storytelling journey that no one wants to end prematurely." His journey began after his first degree in computer science. "I don't enjoy that, I can't do it anyway," he said and set out to become a man. Or rather: to find his destiny. He took detours, sniffed into the daily work of a mover, bouncer, and band worker, achieved success as a martial artist, sold jewelry from the trunk, completed a second degree in philosophy and rhetoric. "In 2022, I laughed three times. Once about Nikita Miller. I fear this man is actually funny. Nikita says what it means to be Kazakh. And much more. In German. And funny. No! Very funny." Olaf Schubert There are comedians who you realize you have missed already at the first encounter. Nikita Miller is one of them. And he has set out on his way. And when someone like that sets out, he also arrives! Wherever that may be.
