On November 21, 2025, "Alchemy," the third album on her own label, was released: 10 tracks ranging from powerful ballads to earthy Americana numbers, dreamy soundscapes, and grooving soul stompers, all wrapped in a live-sounding 60s, 70s vibe, yet firmly anchored in the here and now. "Alchemy" is cinema for the ears and the perfect soundtrack to add a golden shine to everyday life – on record and live on stage. Nicole Bernegger has already had an impressive career as a singer and songwriter. She is considered one of the greatest soul voices, has won various awards, had gold-status records, television appearances, and countless concerts. And yet, she has never been as close to herself as now, where Nicole Bernegger has become synonymous with an eight-member Soul Family.
"Nicole Bernegger" today consists of Nicole Bernegger (Lead Vocals), Marco Nenniger (Bass), Florian Haas Schneider (Drums), Stefan Strittmatter (Guitar), Yves de Groot (Wurlitzer/Hammond), Nza Smith (Backing Vocals), Steffi Klär (Backing Vocals), and Stu Huber (Sound, Stage Design) – musicians who have been active in the Basel scene for years and are known beyond the cantonal borders for their work with acts like La Nefera, Kings Elliot, Ilira, Audiodope, Sandro P, Famara, Fido, or Universe by Ear. "You’re an alchemist turning grey days into gold ..." says the title track of the current Nicole Bernegger album "Alchemy" and those who experience the band live feel exactly this energy, a radiance that makes the shared moment in music something very special – whether on a large festival stage or in an intimate club setting. The Basel soul collective is on the move with captivating joy of playing and impressive passion between Americana and Indie Soul with 60s and 70s influences and psychedelic moments, aligning itself with international genre colleagues like Leon Bridges, The Altons, Michael Kiwanuka, The Red Clay Strays, Jeremie Albino, or Khruangbin.
