Trio Nébuleuse

Description

With the Nébuleuse project, Christian Zufferey opens the doors to his personal musical universe. The pianist and composer, who also enjoys presenting himself as a solo artist, combines his own compositions with free improvisation, creating a sound world full of emotions, memories, and inspirations.
The music of Nébuleuse moves at the intersection of jazz, classical music, world music, and chanson. It tells stories of lived moments, inner journeys, and spiritual experiences. Between fine composition and spontaneous creativity, a musical dialogue emerges that feels both intimate and universal.
Each piece unveils new sound colors and invites the audience to create their own images and stories. Titles like Douceur du Temps Perdu or Nébuleuse unfold a poetic atmosphere full of sensitivity and depth. Works like Combat de Reines and Echo reflect the alpine landscape and its powerful presence. With compositions like Terre-Mère or Esprit de Passage, the gaze turns inward, opening a space for spirituality and contemplation.

Cédric Gysler – Double bass
The double bassist Cédric Gysler, born in 1975 in Lausanne, studied at the Montreux Conservatory and the EJMA Lausanne. As a versatile musician, he has collaborated with renowned artists such as Kenny Kotwitz, Ohad Talmor, Michel Bastet, Gilles Torrents, and Thomas Birchler. His musical signature shapes numerous formations, including the Gabriele Pezzoli Trio, the Evaristo Pérez Trio, the Soraya Berent Quartet, the David Robin Trio, and Voie Sensible. With his warm sound and keen sense of interaction, he forms a solid foundation for the Nébuleuse project.
Jonas Imhof – Drums
Jonas Imhof was born in 1977 in Brig and works as an independent musician and composer in the fields of jazz, world music, rock, and free improvisation. His openness to various musical expressions makes him a sought-after partner on national and international stages. Throughout his career, he has played with Fredi Studer, Hans Koch, Christophe Schweizer, Peter Schärli, Florian Favre, Eliane Amherd, and Stefanie Heinzmann, among others. He has also participated in various projects and bands, including ¡exquisición!, Ionisation, Kompost, Les Branchouilles, and Demasiado Corazón. With his creative energy and multifaceted playing, he brings dynamism, depth, and surprising sound colors to Christian Zuffrey's compositions.
Christian Zufferey – Piano, composition, Hang
Born in 1966. After a classical piano education, Christian Zufferey discovered his passion for jazz and improvisation early on and completed his studies in Lausanne. Since 1992, he has been teaching piano and music theory at the EJMA-VS. As a pianist and composer, he performs with various formations throughout Switzerland and has initiated projects such as Voie Sensible, Collectif B9, Latitudes Trio, Jazz Serenaders, and Klarhang. In addition to the piano, he has also been playing the Hang since the early 2000s. His music combines jazz with influences from classical music, world music, and free improvisation.
