What can his teachings bring us for the challenges of today – interactive lecture with meditations The evening will primarily take the form of an interactive lecture supplemented by meditations and experiential parts. The theme of the evening will be an introduction to the spiritual practice and contemplative prayer of Jesus, viewed through the lens of his native Aramaic language. It will include meditations, chanting of mantras, and body prayer. Neil Douglas-Klotz, a linguist and researcher in the field of spirituality, is the author of the books Aramaic Our Father, The Hidden Gospel, and Meditations on Genesis, published in Czech by DharmaGaia. During the evening, Neil will select short sayings and words of Jesus (Yeshua) from various gospels in Aramaic and show how these words can serve as a foundation for contemplative prayer and meditation. Longer phrases may also be experienced through more active practices, including walking meditation and circle dance with singing in the form of Dances of Universal Peace. The goal is to allow participants to experience Yeshua's way of blessing and healing more deeply. This experience can then become an inspiration and part of their personal spiritual practice. It may also bring new insights into the mysteries of Jesus' mission and teachings, which remain alive even after more than two thousand years. Neil Douglas-Klotz is well-known in our republic due to the translations of his books and also for the dances and meditations he created within the international network of Dances of Universal Peace. He has visited Prague twice in the past and led seminars here. Neil's teachings have been passed down for nearly thirty years by his mentee Ludmila Chrášťanská. Most of the program will take place seated on chairs, though some parts may also include simple movement, walking meditation, or circle dance with singing. The meeting is suitable for more experienced practitioners as well as those who are just getting acquainted with the topic of the Aramaic Jesus, meditation, and contemplative prayer. No prior experience is necessary.
