In the musical «My Fair Lady», two worlds collide: that of Eliza Doolittle, who lives on the street and sells flowers to passersby to make a living, and that of the wealthy phonetics professor Henry Higgins, who only socializes to show off his linguistic knowledge and witty quips. When he bets with his friend Colonel Pickering that he can turn Eliza into a duchess and not only change her dialect into standard language but also her entire appearance, this is exactly his motivation: to rise above the blasé upper middle class by foisting a "flower girl" on them. But not everything goes as planned in his experiment. Author Alan Jay Lerner and composer Frederick Loewe present in their adaptation of the play «Pygmalion» a lively, quick-witted, and dreamy Eliza Doolittle, who retains what her teacher never had: the immediacy of her feelings and the ability to take responsibility.
