Elon Musk has realized his dream and lands as the first human on Mars. But instead of terraforming the planet to his wishes without conditions, he must first face questions from the Martian immigration court, which quickly become quite uncomfortable for him.
No matter how much Musk touts his boundless and authoritarian ideas of freedom as 'liberal': The 'Mars Admission Society' – the audience – scrutinizes every newcomer meticulously.
With the help of earth tweets, Musk is interrogated about his career so far, accusations from Grünheide and the internet are brought up, and must be examined against the extraterrestrial concept of freedom. Using pop music, AI fantasies, and twisted promises, the intruder tries to defend his claims to power on the supposedly freely accessible terrain of Mars.
In the end, the audience delivers the verdict:
Does Elon Musk get a residence permit on Mars?
And if so – under what conditions?
The play humorously and seriously debates concepts of freedom from the right and our own possibilities for action in post-democratic times.
