Musical Meeting with Cellist

Description

We invite you to a meeting with cellist Nikita Ruzhavinski, a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory and Brno's JAMU, and concertmaster of MFO. In his lecture, he will present the cello not only in its modern form but also as a historical instrument with a different character and sound range. He will demonstrate on both modern and baroque cellos how the color of tone, playing style, and perception of familiar compositions can change. He will also explain why more and more performers today are turning to period instruments and historical playing methods, and why the search for their original sound is inspiring for contemporary musicians.
