LECTURE BY PAVEL ZATLOUKAL FROM THE CYCLE MAGIC FLUTE: EUROPEAN AND MORAVIAN ARCHITECTURE AND GARDEN CULTURE OF THE 18TH AND FIRST HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY Even during the Great French Revolution, culminating in attacks against the church, an unexpected turn occurs. The rehabilitation of Christianity is initiated by Chateaubriand, and the entire 19th century is marked by a search for the authentic style of revived Christianity. We will recall this in the cultural context of Prussia, Bavaria, and again in the Lednice-Valtice area.
