Power, billions, minimum security In April 2018, the multi-billionaire and heir to the German Tengelmann Group, Karl-Erivan Haub, disappeared under mysterious circumstances during a ski tour on the Kleine Matterhorn. His body has not been found to this day. Haub's disappearance caused immense media sensation and sparked wild speculation about a possible double life and dubious business connections to Russia. Almost 20 years earlier, Haub, a graduate of the University of St. Gallen, had laid off more than 25,000 employees during radical restructuring measures of the company. Among them: Dennis Schwabenland's father. The accusation: He allegedly bought a camping chair 50 pfennigs too expensive as a central purchaser at the Mülheim an der Ruhr site. To reduce the amount of severance pay, he was also accused of bribery – wrongly, as was later conclusively proven. For him and his family, however, this meant a plunge into social welfare. In addition to real voices, the garden chair Piccolo II, TV judge Barbara Salesch, and J. R. Ewing from "Dallas" appear as unexpected key witnesses in Schwabenland's documentary counterattack MÜLHEIM ABSTURZ RUHR. They frame two crashes that could hardly be more opposite – and reveal the mechanisms of power, blame, and social exclusion.
