A symbiosis of music and light poetry Moonlight Concert is a unique musical experience that combines various genres and instrumentations in a fascinating way. With vocals, saxophone, piano, guitar, Syrian darbuka, and percussion, a soundscape is created that enchants the senses and touches the hearts.
In candlelight and moonlight atmosphere, five full-blooded instrumentalists take you into the world of moving instrumental and singer-songwriter music. Enriched with expressive settings of lyrical classics by Rainer Maria Rilke and rounded off with arrangements of classical music works from Domenico Scarlatti to Johann Sebastian Bach. Moonlight Concert is a very special moment to be enchanted by the magic of a sensual atmosphere of poetic music. It is a journey into the world of poetry, brought to life through passionate and extravagant music. Immerse yourself in this unique sound world and let yourself be touched by lyrical texts, atmospheric melodies, and captivating rhythms. Cologne singer and songwriter Michael Schweiger, known as DER SCHWEIGER, invites renowned artists to this extraordinary musical concept.
With melancholic and sensually appealing songs, Schweiger provides unusual insights into strangely intimate stories. The Cologne musician repeatedly detects new musical impulses in the unconventional soundscape and creates a powerful balance between lightness and heaviness. In addition to PETER KLINKENBERG - the first percussionist and timpani player of the Heidelberg Philharmonic Orchestra, Syrian percussion virtuoso SHADI AL HOUSH captivates visitors with pulsating rhythms. SHADI AL HOSH unfolds an unexpectedly rhythmic kaleidoscope. He uses the traditional darbuka drum, the smaller riq with cymbals, and the large daf - frame drum. Roman Kushniarou, born in Minsk, received clarinet lessons from the age of 6 and then attended a music high school for the gifted. Numerous concert appearances in Europe and Australia, collaboration with renowned orchestras. Also a sought-after saxophonist for ethno, world, and pop music.
Bernd Krampe, a sought-after bassist in the Cologne music scene, sets accents with varied bass lines, and Moritz Gröger, music producer and multi-instrumentalist, supports the rhythm section with classical drums and rounds off the ensemble with straight and groovy guitar riffs. Line-up: vocals, piano, and composition: Michael Schweiger; guitar, percussion, arrangements: Moritz Gröger; darbuka, riq, drums: Shadi Al Housh; percussion, vibraphone: Peter Klinkenberg; saxophone / clarinet: Roman Kushniarou; bass: Bernd Krampe
