Matto Kämpf and Urs Gilgen have invented their own form of True Crime at La Cappella: They tell the case live in front of an audience, with audio and video sequences, quoting from books and newspaper articles, talking with guests, and sometimes digressing – for example, in the Kehrsatz case, the origin story of Toast Hawaiis is also included. They start with Paul «Vatti» Baumann, who was the head of the religious community Methernitha in Linden. He was not a good father. In the seventies, he was convicted and imprisoned for severely mistreating several girls. It is a case of power and oppression behind the fences of a sect. Monday, August 31, 2026, 8:00 PM Damaris Keller is said to have commissioned the murder of her well-off husband. Under the pretense of an evening walk, she lured him to the Aare and handed him over to his murderer, according to the courts. She was never remorseful but was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
