Description
The Greek myth of Demeter and Persephone meets the personal story of the storyteller and echoes of tales from various cultures. Greek gods had a remarkable talent for complicating life for themselves and their children. It is no wonder that Demeter decided to hide her daughter from their world. Yet, a mother, even the mother of a goddess, cannot protect her child from everything. Markéta is a professional storyteller, lecturer, and director of the Storytelling CZ association. For the past thirteen years, she has been exploring what a live-told story can achieve on stage and in education. She studied Theatre Theory and History and Speech Therapy, has taught children in both primary and art schools, and now fully dedicates herself to live storytelling, workshops, and especially the education of teachers. In her work, she connects traditional stories, contemporary themes, and personal experience. She tells stories at festivals, in theaters, around fires, in schools, libraries, and has long been dedicated to how storytelling can develop listening, imagination, communication, and the ability to think in contexts.
