Description
An old armchair, a cup of coffee, and a journey to the cemetery. The performance Maryšo? is an original debut created as a final presentation at the Department of Authorial Creation and Pedagogy. Through various forms of storytelling, it seeks to connect the stories of both fictional and real women. It questions where the author's artistic license ends and the truly lived story begins. In České Budějovice, it is presented as part of the International Storytelling Festival Kolotoč příběhů (17–25. 10. 2026). (review from the NADAMU festival: https://2026.nadamu.cz/posts/cuc-maryso) Barbora Špačková is a recent graduate of DAMU's Department of Authorial Creation and Pedagogy and Charles University in the field of European Cultural History. Her main focus and joy lie in working with voice. In her artistic work, she primarily engages in the intersection of the musical and performative worlds, whether in the choir Veselé chvíle, with the performative duo Dcérenky, or the ensemble VŽUM. In her solo work, she seeks her voice through family stories and personal experiences. She is involved in lecturing. Together with the cultural center Vzlet, she organizes educational programs for schools called KUŠ (culture-art-school). She is part of the lecturing team of the Prague City Theaters. Recently, she has joined the guiding team of Scioškola Nusle.
