After training as a foreign language correspondent, she worked in Berlin and became a mother of three children. Normal life could have continued unaffected, if she hadn't been told she looked like Angela Merkel. As she was increasingly approached about her resemblance to the then Environment Minister, she took on the role of the double. She parodied the CDU woman and, after Merkel became Chancellor, was even a popular entertainment act abroad. Her first stage program "Ich bin durch" premiered in 2012 and was awarded the cabaret prize. Since then, she has also appeared regularly on television. In 2018, her second program "Früher war nix to go" followed. Marianne Schätzle knows how to captivate the audience and generate enthusiasm.
