Description

The world of the ring is not a topic for the Heidelberg HardChor, on the contrary: Under the title "Not My Circus," the masculine vocal ensemble, conducted by Bernhard Bentgens, once again takes to the high wire of men's destinies. There, the singers balance between intellectual pirouettes and emotional blows, juggling their own existential themes: longing for distant places and relationship frustration, emotional management and Föhn hairstyle, the fight for the milk frother in the office, and not least, the question of how to pronounce Stracciatella with a full mouth.
In doing so, the HardChor conjures the magic of music with songs by Queen, David Bowie, Danger Dan, Gianna Nannini, Rio Reiser, Herbert Grönemeyer, Bernhard Bentgens, Bill Withers, and the Fine Young Cannibals. "Not My Circus" is the eleventh program of the HardChor, where melodious vocal acrobatics merge with quirky and witty texts from the HardChor workshop – like a Stracciatella ice cream.
