Manhattan Project - Badische Landesbühne -Introduction at 7 PM

Description

Play by Stefano Massini From 1942, Robert Oppenheimer leads the Manhattan Project. The task: to make nuclear fission militarily usable. Can this end the world war? New York, 1938: four brilliant Jewish scientists from Hungary are engaged in the military use of uranium. In 1942, they join forces with Robert Oppenheimer and plan the unthinkable: building an atomic bomb to bring the war to an end. The scientists work against a ticking clock, as people die in Europe day by day. And no one knows if the Germans are also researching it. Complex and multi-layered, Manhattan Project shows the connection between science and weapons of destruction. In epic style, Stefano Massini writes an angry and disturbing ballad about scientific ambition, moral doubts, and how a splitting uranium atom changes the world. -- Age recommendation: from 14 years
