Mother and son - a relationship that has long occupied people in different fields. For many, their own mother is a place of security, understanding, and childhood - as it is for Joachim Meyerhoff, who, after his stroke and a failed restart in Berlin, finds himself again amidst the shards of his life. When an incident occurs at his son's birthday, it becomes clear to him - he must go to his mother in the countryside.
To escape his crisis and to dedicate himself again to his work as an author, Meyerhoff quickly moves in with his over 80-year-old mother to write his new novel. The company of the lively elderly lady elevates the mother-son relationship to a new level and leads Meyerhoff and the audience out of anger and crises with heartwarming anecdotes.
Joachim Meyerhoff, a celebrated actor and author, is known for his autobiographical works. With the sixth volume of his autobiographical novel series, he again shows how close tragedy and comedy can be.
