Description
In this tragicomedy about the atomic threat, absolutism, and the intoxication of power, historical and contemporary figures appear and meet at a crazy party between times. A Chinese emperor wants to protect himself from the future with a wall. Romeo and Juliet appear as naturally as Napoleon and Cleopatra. A mute person is treated as the voice of the people and sentenced to death. The play, despite all its madness – as one would expect from Max Frisch – is clever, timeless, political, and ambiguous. And yes: There will be a polonaise. The Luzerner Spielleute have been known for over 90 years for sophisticated amateur theater – challenging, high-quality, passionate.
