Description
LÜGEN ÜBER MEINE MUTTER tells the story of the first great love of our lives: the love between mother and child. Set in the West German province of the 1980s, in a family where one theme dominates everything: the body weight of mother Cornelia (Rosalie Thomass). Is this beautiful, independent, unpredictable woman too fat? Does she urgently need to lose weight? Yes, she does. Her husband Werner (Golo Euler), who is increasingly controlled by the fixed idea that his wife's overweight is responsible for everything that fails him: the promotion, social ascent, recognition in the village community. Cornelia is subjected to this day after day, while daughter Ela (Elise Lindner) stands between the chairs and is increasingly infiltrated by her father over the mother, who he considers unreasonably fat. But what is the truth and who is actually lying here?
