LUIGI MUSS NACH HAUSE! - A Road Trip through Italy Two men One car One mission In the beginning, it was all a crazy idea. One evening, as the two photographers Martin Buschmann and Gereon Römer sit together, Martin talks about his homeland Sicily. He was born and raised on the island, still vividly remembers trips to the beach and to Mount Etna with the family car. When his parents later move to Germany, they take the car with them, and since then, it has been in Martin's garage. The car is called Luigi, and it's not just any car, it's a Fiat 500, built in 1967, an Italian legend. And the most important thing is: Luigi still runs! Suddenly, they have an idea: "Let's drive to Sicily with Luigi, Luigi has to go home!" But it quickly becomes clear that this journey won't be easy: Can a man who is 1.88 meters tall and weighs 100 kg fit into an old Fiat Cinquecento? Can Luigi handle the steep roads over the Alps? Is there enough space in the car for all the luggage? And where do these strange engine noises come from? When the three finally set off, they don't yet realize how long this journey will take. Several attempts are needed to reach Sicily because Luigi is a vintage car and technical breakdowns are common. But Luigi is a heartbreaker, people on the street wave to him, and Luigi repeatedly enables personal contacts with Italians.
