Regula Mühlemanns debut in Donizettis masterpiece Lucia loves the hereditary enemy of her family and becomes a pawn of male power interests. Trapped in a web of clan rivalry and family honor, the young woman is married against her will. Her rebellion culminates in one of the most virtuosic arias in opera history, accompanied by otherworldly sounds of the glass harmonica. In the title role, audience favorite Regula Mühlemann and rising star Chelsea Zurflüh alternate. After ‹Rigoletto›, director Vincent Huguet and star designer Pierre Yovanovitch again focus on a popular bel canto classic. With costumes by Charles de Vilmorin, a newcomer to French haute couture, a visually stunning Gesamtkunstwerk is created.
