Livestock Show Tour: Heiden/Grub

Description

The livestock show, or the “Veechschau” as it’s called in the local dialect, is a big day for farmers every year and a major attraction for young and old alike. Farmers from the municipalities of Heiden and Grub in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden gather with their livestock at Henry Dunant Square to crown the most beautiful cow. During the guided tour, farmer Michael Eugster will explain firsthand what it takes for a cow to be crowned “Miss Heiden.” A well-stocked festival food stand will keep you well-fed in this exceptionally beautiful setting overlooking Lake Constance. The meeting point for the tour is at 10:15 a. m. at the archway. The tour is free and lasts about 45 minutes. The tour will be conducted in German.
