After the successful premiere in February, the Pforzheim business podcast "Goldköpfe" returns for a second live session at TurmQuartier Pforzheim. Ana Kugli and Sebastian Seibel will speak this time with two personalities who enrich Pforzheim in very different ways: architect Peter W. Schmidt and entrepreneur Jean Marc Weiser, CEO of La Biosthétique.
Who are the people founding visionary startups or leading established companies here? What drives them, what ideas and dreams do they pursue, and how have they achieved their goals? GOLDKÖPFE has been exploring these questions for about two years, on all popular podcast platforms, and now again live and up close.
Peter W. Schmidt is one of the most prominent architects in the region. His office, founded in 1989, stands for an architecture that relies on dialogue with the location. His portfolio ranges from demanding cultural and educational buildings to residential projects and industrial buildings, and has been awarded multiple times nationally and internationally. The latest example of his work in Pforzheim is the residential high-rise CARL of the Arlinger Baugenossenschaft, a wooden hybrid building and the tallest of its kind in southern Germany, nominated for the German Architecture Museum Award 2026. The discussion will also cover how important high-quality architecture, as well as the preservation and maintenance of old building stock, is for the face of a city like Pforzheim.
Jean Marc Weiser runs La Biosthétique Paris, one of the most renowned cosmetic companies in the world, with deep roots in Pforzheim. Founded in Paris in 1948, the Weiser family developed the brand into an internationally recognized entity over decades. Jean Marc Weiser now leads the company together with his family in the second generation, with headquarters in Paris and Pforzheim, around 350 employees, and a presence in over 60 countries. The holistic concept of the brand Total Beauty, from hair care to perfumes to wellness products, represents an approach that combines science, aesthetics, and humanity.
