Description
How can literature be accessible to everyone? Literary language does not have to be complicated or verbose to be effective. Hauke Hückstädt, director of the Literaturhaus Frankfurt, has invited renowned authors to write stories in Simple Language for «LiES. Das Buch» (Piper 2020). After the great success of the first volume, volume 3 will be published in autumn, including a story by the Viennese author Vea Kaiser. Philip Sippel, curator of the exhibition «unlesbar» at Strauhof, discusses with Vea Kaiser and Hauke Hückstädt the challenges of writing in Simple Language, reading, and the magic of limitation.
