Lina Ghotmeh is one of the most renowned architects of her generation. Her work focuses on sustainable materials and historical awareness, combining traditional craftsmanship with innovative and sometimes experimental building methods. Her projects include the highly praised residential complex "Stone Garden Housing" in Beirut (2021), the 22nd Serpentine Pavilion (2023), and the ongoing comprehensive renovation of the British Museum.
Ghotmeh has taught at Yale University, Harvard Graduate School of Design, and the University of Toronto, and has received numerous awards, including being named to the "TIME100 Next" list, the Schelling Architecture Prize, and the title "Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres." In her lecture, she will present her philosophy of an "Archaeology of the Future" and its relationship to nature, memory, and materiality in architecture.
