A marriage proposal begins – and almost ends in war. In "Love? War!" two one-acts by Anton Tschechow meet: "The Bear" and "The Marriage Proposal." Three people meet – and in no time, everything is thrown off balance. What begins politely turns into a dispute. The dispute becomes a duel. The duel leads to rapprochement. And from the rapprochement, the next conflict immediately arises. Tschechow's characters are not just funny – they are completely serious. The comedy arises precisely from this: from precise timing, physical play, absurd situations, and the desperate attempt of three people to maintain control. A minimal stage becomes a playing field for power, desire, and human vulnerability. Music, rhythm, silence, and light become independent dramaturgical elements. "Love? War!" combines Tschechow's sharp humor with a physically dynamic and precisely directed theatrical evening, where comedy and tension meet directly. Here, laughter is allowed. Here, arguing is allowed. And sometimes, it suddenly becomes very quiet. Raman Allipur is a director, actor, and lecturer. He completed a study in directing and acting and then a master's degree in directing. He has worked as a director for various TV productions, taught at training institutes and art academies, and served as a jury member at theater festivals. His directing work has taken him over many years through Iran, Turkey, and Russia. Since 2017, he has also been staging theater productions based on Anton Tschechow in Germany. Premiere
