Between life and fiction. With Jessica Jurassica and young authors of WORTSTELLWERK - Young Writing House Basel Jessica Jurassica is active in various media and the spaces in between. As a musician, she has released two albums with the Euro-Dance duo CAPSLOCK SUPERSTAR, as a blogger she writes about pop culture, and as a member of a collective, she makes experimental films. Her erotic fanfiction "The most forbidden fruit in the Federal Palace" was issued a warning by the Federal Chancellery, her debut novel "The Ideal of the Broken" received several awards. In 2025, her second novel "Gaslicht" was published. It discusses power, masculinity, trauma, and a long process of healing and emancipation. At Sommercasino, Jessica Jurassica meets young authors of WORTSTELLWERK – Young Writing House Basel. Together, they discuss their texts, (literary) pioneers and role models, the prerequisites needed to start writing, and the possibilities, as well as pitfalls, that arise when lived experiences are processed literarily.
