Description
Wahl Familie
A book about parenthood and non-parenthood, care work, corporeality, origin and chosen family, as well as the tensions and possibilities between having many children, being childless, and being child-free. A warm hug and empowering invitation to reflect on familial, romantic, and friendly relationships. "A book to laugh out loud. To constantly shout: Come, look! That's exactly how it is! Only to cry immediately afterward, that's how it is. A book I want to give everyone because everyone appears in it. Seeing oneself like this, recognizing oneself — that's the antidote to maternal loneliness. I wish I could draw, draw like Camille Fröhlich. And see, think, write like that. But I don't have to: everything is there. The universal aspects of motherhood, parenthood, are in this book." — Michelle Steinbeck, author Camille Fröhlich, born 1994 in Bern, where she lives and works today. She studied illustration at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, graduating in 2022. With "Wahl Familie," she was nominated for the best final thesis at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Design & Art. Since then, she has been working as a freelance illustrator and is active as an art mediator. Moderation: Julia Nacht-Zajić, event manager at Buchhaus Lüthy
