Ruth Wittig, born in Germany, has lived for many years in bilingual Fribourg, which has greatly inspired her interest in language as a means of expression. After studying journalism and psychology, she worked in psychiatric clinics, in research, and as an assistant at the university. Today she runs her own psychotherapeutic practice. She developed literary writing as a second professional path since the 2000s. In 2014, the short story collection Camouflage was published, and in 2019 her debut novel Zu dritt (edition bücherlese). As a reader and cinema-goer, she enjoys involuntary everyday comedy and the genre of gently melancholic satire.
