Writing is fascinating and challenging. Especially when the language you write in is not your own – but the one in which you want to find a new home. The author Usama Al Shahmani has experienced this himself. His books written in German possess a poetic power that is unique in current Swiss literature and enriches it. The course is open to everyone who wants to tell stories in a new language that is not their mother tongue. The form of the texts is free. Poems, prose, plays, or essays can be written. The writing course is free for participants and is offered by the Babel-Literature Festival Bellinzona in cooperation with the Kornhausbibliotheken Bern.
